This is a full-time teaching position in the Upper School teaching four sections of Chinese. The successful candidate is fluent in Chinese and has experience teaching a full range of classes at the introductory level as well as the most advanced classes, including AP classes. As a full-time faculty member, this position also includes serving as an advisor for 8-10 students and supporting a co-curricular activity such as coaching a sport or advising a major school activity. Support of activities that contribute to the life of the school and attendance at all-school faculty meetings, events, back to school nights, department and divisional meetings is expected of all faculty.
An undergraduate degree in Chinese and/or an applicable academic discipline, including in education, is required. Successful teaching experience of at least three to five years in an independent school setting or a comparable academic environment is desired.
