Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano seeks a full time Assistant Director, Middle and Early High School. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano’s programming from 7th grade to 10th grade. The Assistant Director, Middle and Early High School, serves on a small team and must work collaboratively. A strong sense of purpose and vision for expanding educational opportunities for youth who are underrepresented in higher education is an essential characteristic for success in this role, as are a love of learning, sense of service, growth mindset and strong work ethic.

Bachelor’s degree and experience working with middle or high school students from underrepresented communities
Knowledge of curriculum development, youth development or teaching preferred
Ability to work in environments and communities with people from diverse backgrounds (ethnic, socio-economic, educational, etc.)
Experience working in collaborative team environments.
Prior experience with Breakthrough or similar intensive academic, youth organizations is highly preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
