Hopkins School, an independent, co-educational, college-preparatory day school in New Haven, Connecticut, with over 700 students in grades 7-12, is seeking a Director of Parent Engagement. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of parent engagement at Hopkins. This individual will report to the Director of Development and will be an active contributor to the Office of Alumni and Development.
Roles and Responsibilities include: -Designing and implementing a robust series of engagement and volunteer opportunities for our diverse parent community with the goal of ensuring increased parent engagement and support for the School’s objectives. -Collaborating with other offices on campus to align programming with important themes and dates in Academics, Admissions, Arts and Athletics. -Working closely with the Office of Communications in developing consistent materials, mailings, emails, etc. for parents with the goal of maintaining open lines of communication with all parents. -Assisting with and overseeing the logistics, planning and execution of all parent events and programs, including meetings, breakfasts, new parent receptions, outreach events, networking opportunities and the annual auction, Celebrate Hopkins. This includes a careful analysis of metrics after each event to measure success. -Serving as an ambassador at all Hopkins School events. -Partnering with the Nominations chair and existing Board members to identify and select future members of the Parent Association Board. -Helping to expand, coordinate and manage the parent volunteers and co-chairs of the parent portion of the Hopkins Fund. -Working with members of the Development team to identify, cultivate and steward donors. -This individual may be asked to manage a small pool of potential mid-level donors.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, a positive outlook, strong interpersonal skills. A Bachelor’s degree and several years of related independent school experience are required. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
