The Foreign Language Department seeks an experienced, talented teacher who is looking to work in a school where passion and innovation are encouraged and supported. The position includes teaching four sections of Spanish and serving as an advisor to Upper School students.
Teach a range of Spanish courses in the language department’s core series, including AP
Create curriculum for upper-level elective offerings
Participate in all aspects of Upper School life, including advising, club leadership, and/or coaching
Essential skills and experience
A master’s degree in Spanish or education is strongly desired
Native speaking ability is preferred
A minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience is preferred
Thoughtful curriculum design and implementation
Commitment to inquiry-based learning
A knowledge of pedagogy, specifically in proficiency-based approaches to teaching language
Ability to differentiate and teach a variety of learners
Comfort with educational technologies
Essential attitudes and aptitudes
A continued interest in professional development as a lifelong learner
A student-centered educator
A willingness to participate with enthusiasm in all aspects of the school community
A collaborative spirit to work closely with colleagues
An eagerness to further develop and refine one’s teaching practice
