Lincoln School, founded in 1884, is an independent K-12 Quaker girls’ school in Providence, Rhode Island. We are currently seeking a full-time Upper School Physics/Chemistry teacher.
The position requires teaching two sections of 9th grade General Physics and two sections of 10th grade General Chemistry, serving as an Upper School advisor, and engaging in Lincoln’s clubs/extracurricular program. The successful candidate will be an active member of the Science Department team continuing work in Lincoln's Beyond the AP program, and in developing curricula utilizing the newly opened STEAM Hub for Girls facility. The preferred candidate will have experience with student-centered teaching and the confidence and skills to meet the needs of a variety of learners in the Upper School grades. A sense of humor, commitment to an all-girls environment, and the desire to inspire and engage young women in science are essential.Contributions to school life beyond the classroom are expected, as well as the ability to embrace and forward the Quaker mission of Lincoln School. An advanced degree is preferred, though not required.
