An ideal Upper School Theatre & Dance teacher is dynamic, creative, and intellectual, and able to teach a wide variety of theater & dance to all ages and levels of students. The teacher will work with students in grades 9 - 12.
Inspiring, engaging, and encouraging students in the study of Theatre & Dance
Working collaboratively with colleagues both inside and outside the Performing Arts department
Using professional growth opportunities to continually refine artistic practice
Responding to the needs of the School, including but not limited to, directing & choreographing, service learning, advisory programs, assigned supervision, and other areas as determined by the Director of Fine and Performing Arts and the Upper School Head
Potential course-load includes:
Hip-Hop/ Contemporary Dance
Acting and Directing for the Camera
Introductory- level Theater
Ability to direct and/or choreograph productions
Experience working in a student-centered learning environment, with practical experience with problem- and project-based learning, as well as integrated learning
Prior experience teaching Theatre or Dance
Professional artistic experience
