Episcopal School of Jacksonville is seeking a creative, dynamic teacher experienced in Computer Science and/or robotics to help redesign and grow our Middle School and Upper School programs. Active participation and contribution to the larger school community through academic advising and sponsoring extra-curricular programs is also expected.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Coding in drag and drop programming as well as Java, C++ and Python
Gsuite for Education
Work collaboratively to achieve departmental and school-wide goals
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study from a four-year college or university, or post graduate work in subject matter; advanced degree is preferred.
Three years of teaching experience in an independent school setting is preferred, but will give serious consideration to an individual who has demonstrated a desire to work with young people or who has worked in other educational settings.
Strong desire to work with colleagues in a learner-centered environment by facilitating integrated projects that grow our program
Willingness to engage in a wide-rage of learning activities using computational thinking, group work, projects and presentations, and computing.
Lifelong learner who can be an agent of change when ideas align with the mission of the school.
