Wye River Upper School (WRUS) seeks a full time 12 month Director of Education. WRUS is an independent college and career prep high school serving bright students with learning differences including ADHD, dyslexia or high-functioning autism. The School is an accredited member of the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS). WRUS is located on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore in Centreville, MD. Qualified candidate will have a Master’s in Special Education or a Master’s degree in a related field with demonstrated experience in responsive classroom instruction for students with learning differences. The candidate will demonstrate ability to coach content area teachers in best practices using a range of educational strategies and techniques for students with learning differences as well as students impacted by anxiety. The candidate should be versed in 21C Outcomes, Project Based Learning, experiential learning, and Universal Design in Learning. The position offers a competitive pay and benefits package. The Dir. of Education will work closely with a highly collaborative faculty and staff, and a supportive and involved parent community. This position will participate in supporting the School vision for the next 3-5 years through Strategic Planning and AIMS re-accreditation.
