Head Varsity Cross Country/Track Coach
Cape Fear Academy is looking for a qualified Head Varsity Cross Country/Track Coach that will manage the program and emphasize the values of leadership and sportsmanship. This individual will direct and coordinate all aspects of the cross country and track programs in concert with Cape Fear Academy’s mission and values. Key responsibilities include planning and running daily practices, game day coaching, travel to and from away contests, attending all program and league meetings, responding to requests from prospective student-athletes, and handling administrative tasks as needed. The successful candidate must be dynamic, energetic, motivated, and committed to working with high school students within the context of a day school committed to promoting health and wellness, teamwork, good citizenship, and sportsmanship. . The Head Coach must be organized, hard-working and demonstrate a strong desire to build a program at all levels. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.
Ideal candidates must have previous successful club, high school or college running or coaching experience and be available Monday through Friday. The season runs from the middle of August through mid-October. This is a part-time temporary position and includes a coaching stipend. CFA provides a competitive athletic program that competes in the NCISAA (North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association).
