St. Johns Country Day School, an independent college preparatory school, is seeking an experienced academic leader to fill the role of Middle/Upper School math teacher. Qualified applicants will value strong relationships with students and colleagues and be capable of teaching intermediate math subjects.
Duties and responsibilities of this position include:
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of subject matter with a course load that could include a combination of Middle School and Upper School math, including advanced placement calculus.
Serve as an advisor to a group of students in one particular grade level
Work with the Administrative team to build a meaningful student learning experience
Work alongside grade level teams to build cross-curricular connections and interdisciplinary projects
Create a secure and stimulating environment in which students grow in both autonomy and the ability to work and interact together
Take responsibility for being a role model by maintaining an environment that fosters respect among students and colleagues
Possess strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
The position requires an advanced degree in math education or related field with a minimum of three years teaching experience at the middle and/or upper school levels. Master’s degree is preferred.
Additional Salary Information: The position is for the academic year starting in August 2019. A salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications is paid to employees annually.
