The Food Service Director is a ten-month staff member who follows the same calendar as the faculty. The Food Service Director reports to the Director of Finance and the Head of School.
Principal duties include:
Budgeting of department finances.
Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating cafeteria staff.
Preparing monthly payroll information.
Reconciling invoices and submitting to finance department for payment.
Planning menu and developing recipes.
Publishing monthly menu and sending for posting on the website.
Working closely with school nurse and parents of students who have food allergies or special food requirements.
Ordering all food and arranging delivery in a timely manner and with minimal disruption to the school schedule.
Evaluating equipment needs for repair or purchasing new as needed.
Working closely with architects or builders as new facilities are planned.
Staying current on Health Department regulations, keeping current SafeServe certification, and making sure the facility is in compliance.
