Rye Country Day School is seeking a Director of Alumni Relations to join the Development and Alumni Relations team. The Director of Alumni Relations reports to the Director of Development and will be responsible for executing a strategic plan of meaningful engagement with our alumni community and will cultivate, manage, and steward a portfolio of alumni prospects. This role will also engage and work with alumni volunteers, donors, and faculty to achieve departmental and School goals to create a seamless culture of alumni engagement and philanthropic support.
Specific responsibilities include:
Develop fundraising plan for alumni which includes all mail, phone, and electronic solicitations and analyze results
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni major gift donors
Manage Alumni Executive Board and Class Agents
Identify, recruit, and manage Alumni Annual Giving Volunteers and Reunion Committee members
Plan, coordinate, and execute all alumni events and post event follow-up
Develop and implement a plan for alumni communications, including e-notes, social media, and publications content
Monitor accuracy of alumni database records
Follow-up on all “relationship management” aspects with alumni, individual requests, recording class notes, change of address, etc.
Facilitate Alumni Networking through events and curating job and internship opportunities
Team with faculty in coordinating alumni speakers
Bachelor’s degree with five years minimum experience in alumni relations/development or related field
Proven track record of engaging alumni and garnering philanthropic support
Knowledge of principles and best practices of development
Ability to think creatively and strategically
Knowledge and management of social media platforms
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
Excellent administrative, organizational, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and moderate travel as needed
