Founded in 1829, Burr and Burton Academy is an independent, coeducational Vermont high school with a public mission. It serves as the school of choice for 768 students who come from Manchester, surrounding communities, and countries overseas. Situated at the foot of Mt. Equinox and overlooking picturesque Manchester Village, Burr and Burton is a school with a proud tradition of educating students of diverse backgrounds and talents in a supportive and caring environment. The Burr and Burton Academy English and Social Studies departments seek two full-time, motivated, enthusiastic, team-oriented Humanities colleagues, beginning August of 2019. Candidates should have experience teaching high school students, a degree in either English or History, a strong command of English grammar, and the ability to develop and deliver a rich and meaningful integrated curriculum in a differentiated classroom setting.
