The Boulder Country Day Music Teacher will work with the Fine Arts Director and Vocal Music Teacher to deliver the music curriculum throughout the entire school – preschool through 8th grade.
The responsibilities of the BCD Instrumental Music Teacher include but are not limited to the following:
Teach Concert Band (4th and 5th Grade), Wind Ensemble (Middle School), Exploratory (Middle School), instrumental sectionals, and General Music (ES)
Prepare and present instrumental concerts, musicals, and special performances
Prepare students and ensembles to audition and participate in festivals, workshops, and honors ensembles
Review and revise the BCD music curriculum as needed;
Collaborate with the Fine Arts Director and teachers to facilitate musical performances;
Assist teachers as needed with weekly assembly programs
Maintain BCD music instruments, facilities, and equipment;
Foster a diverse and dynamic music program throughout the school community.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
A BA or higher in music education or a related field
A strong background and love of music and the arts;
Experience in an educational setting;
Strong organizational skills;
An ability to work with people in an efficient and positive manner;
A strong desire to promote and elevate music instruction and appreciation within the school and Boulder community; and
Effective communication skills.
