Position Summary: The Lovett School seeks a full-time Director of Annual Giving to strategically lead the school’s annual giving program and manage the Annual Giving team. Currently, the True Blue Annual Fund accounts for a critical $2.8 million of the school’s annual operating budget, and the school is experiencing growing operating needs. The True Blue Annual Fund relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of more than 200 volunteers and the Annual Giving team is responsible for managing and engaging a volunteer structure that is instrumental to the campaign’s success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and grow the True Blue Annual Fund by developing strategies for all the school’s constituencies – alumni, parents, faculty and staff, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends.
Educate the Lovett community regarding the impact and importance of the True Blue Annual Fund.
Develop enhanced, meaningful stewardship of Lovett’s top donors (including benefits for all levels), as well as manage and oversee all True Blue Annual Fund events.
Direct, manage, and steward Annual Fund volunteer committees including, but not limited to, leadership, parent, new parent, and alumni committees. Guide and collaborate with Annual Fund Chairs and lead volunteers to implement the year’s True Blue Annual Plan.
Work in conjunction with the entire development team to secure annual gifts through direct solicitation, retain and upgrade donors through appropriate stewardship, and build a pipeline for major gifts for the school.
With support from the communications team, develop all Annual Fund communications such as volunteer communications, social media updates, personal solicitations, mail and electronic solicitations, pledge forms, etc.
Manage and oversee Annual Giving staff of two – Leadership and Parent Annual Giving Manager and Alumni Annual Giving Manager.
Serve as the point person for oversight and direction as well as Annual Fund recognition lists for the Annual Report.
Generate Raiser’s Edge queries, exports, and reports as needed for True Blue campaign analysis, solicitations, committee meetings, etc.
Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in the field of development
Proven ability to set strategy, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, make personal solicitation calls, and manage high-level volunteers
Strong management, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to make decisions and recommendations in a fluid environment
Strong attention to detail and follow through required
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred
Ability to work as a team member and display positive behaviors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
