The Human Resources Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance, will enable our faculty and staff teams to be their best, amplify our already strong workplace culture, and ensure that our compensation and benefits programs are meeting all of our current and future needs.

Key Areas of Focus for the Role
Champion best practices and current trends in HR management to ensure that PBS continues to be a great place to work
Support HR administrative processes, record-keeping, benefits administration, and human resources development
Assist with creation of career paths for various positions to encourage employee retention and development, and to contribute to the mission of the school
Participate in the design of new and innovative programs funded by the school’s current capital campaign, including a new menu-based benefits system and incentive-based compensation
Facilitate the school’s professional learning program, staff evaluation process, and teacher mentorship program
1. Human resources administrative and record-keeping processes
Plan and coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes including new hire orientation, end-of-year checklists, training management, and exit paperwork
5 or more years’ experience in human resources administration with a combination of HR processes and projects in a small organization environment
Familiarity with employee benefits including health, flexible spending accounts, disability, etc.
Attention to detail and ability to manage various provider databases (e.g., Blue Shield, Kaiser, Guardian, etc.)
Strong collaborator who can work with the leadership team on strategic projects
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Strong listening and follow-through, and particularly adept at helping people work towards alignment on PBS’s mission, philosophy, and vision
