Milton Academy, established in 1798, is an independent coeducational national boarding and day school, serving 1,000 students in grades K-12, on a 125-acre campus eight miles south of Boston.
Milton Academy is seeking a full-time Upper School English teacher for a possible position starting in September 2019.
The teacher will teach four classes focused on literature and writing, typically at two or more grade levels, and engage with students beyond the classroom. Three years of classroom experience at the secondary or collegiate level are required, and the ability to work in a diverse community is essential. Also, the department’s emphasis on tradecraft makes candidates open to collaboration particularly attractive. An advanced degree is preferred. Teacher certification is not required.
Additional duties ordinarily include serving as an advisor for 6-8 students, advising a student activity, and/or coaching a sport.
