Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school for 851 students in grades 5-12 located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Admissions Operations for an August start date. This is an extended year position (beginning in mid - August and ending in early July).
Responsibilities The ideal candidate will join an eight person team that holds itself to the highest standards in its assessment practices, outreach initiatives, financial aid stewardship, and customer service. The Assistant Director of Admissions Operations leads the 7th/8th grade admissions committee, is a primary interviewer and tour guide for middle school applicants, is responsible for daily management of the admissions operating systems, and plays an integral role in providing outstanding customer service and counsel to families navigating the application process. The Assistant Director of Admissions Operations reports to the Director of Admissions & Financial Aid. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Chair the 7th/8th grade admissions committee, read and review admissions files, recruit committee members, arrange and lead committee meetings, handle deny and alternate pool calls, and counsel families in all aspects of attending Lakeside.
Oversee the SSAT admissions testing program through coordination with the Enrollment Management Association. Recruit test proctors, secure and set up facilities, and communicate with families to ensure preparation for testing dates.
Serve as a Middle School interviewer and tour guide.
Manage the office systems team comprised of individuals from multiple departments. In coordination with the Admissions Systems Specialist and the Assistant Director of Admissions ensure applicant materials are checked daily, systems updates occur, and uploads from other systems are timely and accurate. The current systems are Ravenna and Veracross.
In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Admissions, update and edit the admission and financial aid web pages.
Liaison with the Business Office for enrollment and reenrollment processes and the Development Office for reporting and records reconciliation.
Prepare hardcopy materials to mail for admissions and enrollment processes.
Serve as a greeter of visitors to Fix Hall (Upper School).
Assist the Director with management of expenses and budgets.
Inventory and order office supplies.
Attendance Report for the A&FA office.

Four-year college degree.
Five-years of experience in admissions and financial aid or another school office preferred.
Experience with data systems and data processes; experience with Ravenna and Veracross preferred.
Proven ability to learn and use new data systems; knowledge of industry standard query approaches preferred.
Experience with MS office, especially MS Word. Experience with MS Excel and Excel related data merge techniques preferred.
Experience in supervisory or management position.
Excellent written, verbal communication, and phone skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple events and tasks.
Able to learn new systems, problem solve, and think creatively.
Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
Candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal history background checks.
