The Director of Extended Care reports directly to the Lower School Principals and is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of morning, recess duties, lunch and afterschool care and programs.
FOCUS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration and Management
Plan, schedule and implement high quality programming that aligns with school day learning
Recruit, train and manage all extended care staff
Monitor attendance and approve payroll hours of all extended care staff
Provide substitution coverage when needed
Participate in the budgetary process of the Extended Care program and supervise the billing process and maintenance of billing records
Liaison with summer camp providers
Develop an efficient system of communication between extended care and the Health Center in regards to student injuries and illnesses.
Keep parents informed of disciplinary changes and modifications
Ability to create and implement fun, engaging developmentally appropriate activities
Collaborates with section Principals on program design and initiatives as well as the Lower School Assistant Principal on program with after school programs and camps.
Translate EEC state regulations into daily practices and program policies
Develop rapport and build relationships with students, parents, faculty and staff
Meet with Parent Committee to discuss aspects of the programs in conjunction with section Principals
Responsible for immediately reporting and documenting any and all injuries and incidents utilizing established procedures in order to notify parents and other members of administration.
Other duties and task in support of the Lower School program including special events
3-5 years of experience working in Lower and Middle School
Responsible role in an extended care setting (youth program, camp, etc.) is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or field
Bilingual in French preferred but not required
First Aid and CPR certification required
