Greens Farms Academy seeks a Middle School Spanish Teaching Fellow to begin in August 2019. Teaching fellows teach a reduced courseload and contribute to other aspects of independent school life: leading clubs and activities, chaperoning trips, and possibly coaching. Teaching fellowships are generally two-year positions and offer relatively new teachers opportunities for mentorship and professional growth.
The position will involve teaching two or three sections of Middle School students in Spanish; the ability to teach Mandarin or French is a plus. The ideal candidate will have some experience working with middle-school-aged students and a strong background in Spanish. For all positions, we look for candidates who enjoy working with colleagues in a collaborative environment, who are flexible and creative, who will fully engage in the life of the school, and who are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable community. The new teacher will join a collegial Middle School faculty and a World Languages Department committed to target language-immersion, communicative teaching, thematic units, project-based learning, and technological integration.
Greens Farms Academy is a PreK-12 co-educational day school of 715 students in the Greens Farms section of Westport, CT. We are a suburban school close to major transportation and a five-minute walk from the Greens Farms Metro North train station. The campus sits on the Long Island Sound, a half hour south of New Haven and an hour north of New York City by car or commuter train. Please visitwww.gfacademy.org for more information.
Interested candidates should email a resume, reference list (if available), and letter of interest addressed to Drew Meyer, Head of Middle School, to email@example.com.
