Nativity School is a PS-8 school located in Menlo Park, CA. Nativity School is seeking a dynamic and innovative Middle School Mathematics teacher to set high expectations for academic excellence, to lay a solid foundation in conceptual mathematical thinking and operational skill, and to help students make the transition into more abstract algebraic thinking. The candidate will be skilled in developing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills and will employ a variety of instructional strategies to ensure that all students are challenged to attain mastery of complex concepts. The candidate must be able to integrate technology in a one-to-one classroom environment. Experience teaching honors-level Algebra I and STEM curriculum is preferred. In addition, this person will serve as an advisor to 10-12 students, sponsor a STEM club, and serve on the Academic Decathlon Preparation team.
STRONG CANDIDATES POSSESS:
Commitment to Nativity School’s Mission and Philosophy.
Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Education or a related field required; Master’s preferred.
Valid California teaching credential or acquire within five years of hire date of hire.
Experience as a math, science or technology teacher in Grades 5-8.
Obvious passion for teaching; strong teaching ability; enjoy working with children.
Design academically challenging, appropriately differentiated math experiences and curricula and use a wide-range of authentic assessment strategies.
Use thoughtful technology integration to expand learning opportunities and create a collaborative learning environment.
Cultivate a growth mindset in self and students.
Contribute to a culture of innovation with high standards for excellence and ethics.

Additional Salary Information: Salary is determined per the San Francisco Archdiocesan Salary Scale. This is a Full-time, exempt, with benefits position that reports to the Principal from August 2019 to June 2020.
