The Upper School Mathematics department at Trinity Valley School is seeking to hire an Upper School Mathematics teacher. The position will include teaching five sections ranging from Algebra I Precalculus. Experience and qualification in a range of high school mathematics courses is preferred. Mathematics teachers at Trinity Valley School are highly encouraged to use technology and experiential learning as tools for developing mathematics. The applicant should be comfortable using graphing calculators appropriately in class and be able to encourage students to explore mathematics graphically, numerically, analytically, and verbally using a multi-representational approach.
Also, the candidate should possess leadership qualities that serve to inspire, motivate, and develop students. An advanced degree as is familiarity with the culture of private, independent schools, and a willingness to become involved in the school beyond the classroom is desirable. The ideal candidate should have the ability to be flexible and caring while holding students to high expectations in academic endeavors inside and out of the classroom experience. Finally, the successful candidate must be able to work collegially with other members of the department.
