The Assistant to the Head of Lower School must have the ability to manage multiple functions, be well organized, and value confidentiality. This assistant must be proficient with the use of technology. Experience with Senior Systems and Finalsite are a plus.
Receive messages for Head of Lower School, students, and faculty
Prepare and distribute Lower School weekly calendar
Input daily attendance in Senior Systems
Prepare agenda and needed materials for faculty meetings
Attend calendar meetings and maintain Lower School calendars for parents and teachers
Manage calendar for Lower School community events including security calendar for Lower School visitors
Print and file report cards for faculty and Head of Lower School
Assist in the preparation of and attend annual Lower School Back to School Night and other school wide events as needed
Prepare script, merit cards and other recognitions for quarterly Merit Assembly
Prepare script, certificates and other recognitions for end-of-year Prize Day
Order supplies for faculty, classrooms and Lower School office
Maintain substitute teacher list and confirm substitute coverage for absent faculty
Copy, forward and file faculty-student recommendations and student testing results
Maintain record of student applications to other schools
Assist the Head of Homeroom Parents in organizing Lower School special events
Reserve facilities through “SchoolDude” for Lower School activities
Schedule appointments for the Head of Lower School

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Genuine affinity for working with children and families in an educational setting
Ability to make independent decisions along with maintaining the confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information
High level of competence using technology
Experience with Senior Systems a plus
Strong references to convey your abilities
Successful completion of criminal offender record information and sexual offender registry information checks
Current Safe Environment training
Current CPR certification
Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
Punctuality and dependability
Ability to maintain accurate records
Adherence to all personnel policies, procedures and rules contained in the Duchesne Employee Handbook
Maintain productive relationships with other Duchesne faculty and staff, working closely with other Department Heads where applicable
