POSITION SUMMARY: The Extended Day Receptionist is responsible for answering telephones, routing and screening calls, greeting visitors, responding to inquiries from parents and colleagues, providing information about the Extended Day and Coordinate Programs, and assisting the Director of the After School Program with clerical duties as needed.
Answer phones and field calls related to Extended Day and Coordinate Programs.
Track student attendance.
Work with Director and Extended Day Teachers to track whereabouts of Extended Day and Coordinate Program students.
Greet parents or approved person(s) arriving to pick up students.
Prior to picking up students from the Extended Day program the Extended Day Receptionist will check photo IDs and assist parents or approved person(s) with signing out their child. Only parents and those individuals on an authorized list may pick-up the student.
Direct parents to appropriate Extended Day or Coordinate Programs location once they have signed out their child
Receive and process Drop-In Request Forms
Complete other tasks as may reasonably be assigned by the director.
Based upon these job duties, it is imperative that the Extended Day Receptionist remain at the Extended Day reception area at all times during their shift (needed breaks to be provided with coverage from the Director or After School Teacher).
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational skills and ability to finish tasks in a timely manner.
Exemplary work ethic and ability to schedule personal appointments and meetings outside of work hours.
Demonstrate adeptness at problem solving and conflict resolution.
Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to school matters.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Possess computer skills and familiarity with appropriate technology.
Project a positive image of the school to parents and general community.
