Glenelg Country School seeks a full-time Humanities teacher for the tenth grade Western Studies team for the 2019/2020 academic year beginning in August. This double-credit course is designed to develop strong reading, writing, thinking, and presentation skills through the study of Western culture and a variety of literary genres. Qualified candidates should have interest and experience in teaching a differentiated curriculum, communicating ideas through multiple modalities, and assessing learning through a variety of approaches and methods. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, and eager to bring innovative ideas to the curriculum. The candidate must demonstrate an interest and ability to collaborate with other teachers in planning and execution of courses. The Humanities Department faculty typically teaches four or five sections, with two or three preps. In addition to teaching, the position includes serving as an academic advisor to a small group of students, and/or contributing to the community as a coach, club advisor, or member of a school committee.
