This is a full-time position and reports to the Director of Learning Services.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties of the Learning Specialist
Reading Remediation – plan and deliver small group multi-sensory reading and spelling lessons as well as comprehension lessons to select groups of lower school students
Faculty Collaboration – push into classrooms to support, observe, and give feedback for implementation of a balanced, responsive, and differentiated approach to literacy.
Screening and Assessment – develop and implement robust assessment practices; provide regular feedback to teachers and parents and students when appropriate.
Meetings – participate in Student Resource Group (SRG) and weekly grade level and staff meetings.
Referrals – make recommendations to families regarding outside evaluations and support services.

This is a full time position and reports to the Middle School Head. The teacher collaborates with a second lead teacher in the classroom.
