The Associate Director of Annual Giving reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement.
The Associate Director of Annual Giving primary responsibility is the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive annual giving program including the coordination of supporting initiatives in the area donor relations specifically prospect research, cultivation, and stewardship of donors across all constituencies with a concentration on parent support.
Collaborate effectively with the Director of Institutional Advancement to determine annual giving goals and build strategic and tactical plans for achieving these goals.
Plan, supervise, and coordinate all Annual Fund giving efforts including direct mail campaigns, personal solicitations, prospect pools and research, cultivation, and donor stewardship for all constituencies.
Prepare and manage a prospect pool with annual goals for personal visits and giving outcomes for the Head of School, Director of Institutional Advancement, Alumnae Engagement and Giving Manager, and other members of the Institutional Advancement Team and school community.
Continue to manage and grow the Annual Fund Volunteer Cabinet for parents and guide the Alumnae Engagement and Giving Manager on enlisting alumnae and parents of alumnae as Annual Fund volunteers.
Guide the Alumnae Engagement and Giving Manager to develop a strategic Alumnae Annual Giving plan that will grow alumnae and parent of alumnae donor engagement and annual fund support.
Plan, supervise, and coordinate all aspects of annual giving and donor relations programs including, but not limited to phonathons, faculty-staff campaigns, senior gift campaign, reunion campaigns, and other programs.
Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Advancement to gain strong participation in annual giving and build strategies for moving donors to higher giving levels.
Assist the Head of School and Director of Institutional Advancement on all Capital, Major Gift, and Planned Giving efforts.
Assist the Head of School and Director of Institutional Advancement on preparation for the solicitation of major donors.
Plan, supervise, and coordinate the Annual Report of Donors with the Director of Institutional Advancement and Director of Communications.
Plan, supervise, and coordinate fundraising and donor cultivation events, including Head of School Receptions, Major Donor Prospect Reception for current parents, and Major Donor Prospect Reception for Alumnae and Parents of Alumnae, and assist with other fundraising events, specifically but not limited to the Annual Benefit Gala and the Library Luncheon.
Oversee the updating and maintenance of the database.
Willingness to assist and participate in all Institutional Advancement Office projects.
Necessary Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred;
Minimum of five years of successful experience in annual fund and major gift fundraising;
Interest in all aspects of education and a dedication to promoting the school’s fundraising priorities through developing excellent relationships with administration, trustees, faculty, current parents, alumni, alumnae parents, volunteers, and the Institutional Advancement Team;
Outstanding work ethic and desire to meet goals;
Superior organizational skills with great attention to detail;
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skills;
Strong writer with editing experience. Strong research skills;
Ability to problem-solve and make decisions independently; ability to collaborate with others as part of teams;
Excellent command of office technology tools including Microsoft Word, Excel and database software; Veracross experience a plus;
Discretion and tact in handling confidential information;
Highest ethical and professional behavior;
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed in support of all Institutional Advancement initiatives and school events;
