The STEAM/Outdoor Education Instructor is responsible for teaching students in a grade ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to Fourth with a dynamic and energetic attitude. The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, a sound educational philosophy and Christian worldview consistent with the mission of MPCS.
• Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math • Demonstrate the ability to create and implement strategies for weaving STEAM experiences into multi-disciplinary curricula from grades K through 4 • Work in partnership with teachers and staff, modeling consistent effective teaching with technology, engagement, lesson plan design, use of technology, STEAM and online tools • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the connection between technology, computer science, and other fields of study • Understand and be able to design, develop, assess, and manage STEAM learning experiences. • Work and instruct students from grades K-4 in outdoor learning experiences such as gardening, planting, experimenting, etc. • Demonstrate the ability to enrich learning by helping students learn and appreciate nature and the environment

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctoral degree strongly preferred • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience • Experience teaching in a Christian and/or independent school or university setting • Experience working as part of an academic team and facilitating a collaborative, trusting atmosphere among colleagues • A genuine ability to “connect” with and serve young people in a Christian community • An eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment • Proven history of commitment to professional development and lifelong learning • Advanced level of technology and 21st century learning understanding and application. • Deep knowledge of content standards, effective instructional strategies, and assessment driven instruction. • Strong Google Apps for Education skills (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, etc). • Highly effective communication, listening, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. • Effective written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills.
