Job Summary: Fayerweather Street School seeks a dynamic professional to be responsible for the school’s enrollment planning, focusing on recruitment, admission, financial aid, retention, and related data accumulation and analysis. Based on Fayerweather’s mission, values and strategic plan, the Director of Admissions will develop and maintain a thoughtful and intentional strategy for attracting families to the school. This is a 12-month position with a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. The Director of Admissions will report directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a strategic enrollment plan for attracting mission-appropriate students with a signficant focus on retention and attrition, financial sustainability, and identification of new and emerging markets
Provide meaningful, measureable, and regular reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Institutional Advancement, and Board of Trustees to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Develop strategies to increase underrepresented cultural groups
Continuously demonstrate a deep understanding of admissions and enrollment trends that impact the independent school market on local, regional, and national levels
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and engage with students, staff, and faculty
Implement and interpret data, trends, and metrics to continuously refine strategy and direction
Collaborate with the Associate Director of Advancement in support of admissions work
Oversee all admissions and enrollment-related components of the school’s student information database
Collaborate with the Head of School, and the Director of Finance and Operations, to disseminate the tuition support budget
Represent the school in various local, regional, state, and national organizations.
Partner with the Advancement office, including Marketing and Communications, and the Marketing and Finance board committees, to guide marketing strategies and financial sustainability
Assist in development of new family and new student orientations and overall transitions to Fayerweather
The ideal candidate will have:
A Bachelor's degree required, Advanced degree preferred
A proven track record of exceeding expectations and a strong growth trajectory in past roles
The ability to ask questions that will inspire stakeholders, including staff, parents and students
A willingness to be flexible and to do what it takes to get things done and the creativity to grapple with challenges
Demonstrated experience with balancing “big picture” strategic thinking and attention to detail
Strong project management skills; ability to meet tight, and sometime concurrent, deadlines.
