R-MA is looking for Middle School science teacher for 2019-20. This person should be experienced in teaching earth, life, and physical science.
Assess student performance on a regular basis to determine next steps for instruction
Design lesson plans that align with curriculum and standards - familiarity with Understanding by Design unit and lesson planning
Familiarity with the Next Generation Science Standards
Use appropriate classroom management skills that create a safe environment for all students
Implement a variety of instructional approaches that meet the needs of diverse learners
Design inquiry-based learning experiences for students
Collaborate with a small team of teachers to create cross curricular projects and experiences
Mentor a group of students in both academics and character development throughout the year
Effectively communicate with parents as a mentor and teacher
Coach a sport or supervise an intramural each season (fall, winter, and spring)
Must have experience teaching Science at either High School or Middle School level; Middle School preferred.
Virginia teaching license preferred
Master's degree preferred
