St. Stephen's Episcopal School, a day and boarding school of 697 students (grades 6-12), is seeking a Jazz Band Director for a full-time position, beginning August 1, 2019.
The Jazz Band Director is responsible for teaching and/or coordinating Middle School and Upper School Jazz Bands, Beginning Band, Music Theory and private lessons.
Qualified candidates will have experience teaching both Middle School and Upper School students. The candidate will be a teacher, performer and collaborative artist, and be able to work with other members of the Fine Arts Department on projects throughout the year.
In addition, qualified candidates will have, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field; an advanced degree is preferred. The applicant will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty and administrators. This position also may include teaching, coaching, and/or residential duties and involvement with school life that will be determined based on the needs of the school, as well as the skills, experience and interests of the individual who fills this position.
