The High Mountain Institute is seeking an Admissions Associate, a .75 time (Apprx. August 20 – May 31) position. The position assists the Director of Admissions with current marketing and admissions efforts and helps explore new marketing strategies. This position can be combined with employment in the HMI Summer Term or other adjunct HMI programming to create a full-time role.

Assist with developing new avenues to meet priorities for student-body diversity
Increase visibility of HMI brand and the concept of a “semester school” and HMI summer programs
Facilitate logistics for admissions travel
Up to 8 weeks of HMI promotional travel
Process applications and enrollment information
Primary responder to admissions inquiries
Coordinate mailings and other admissions-related tasks
Read and score applications; assist with admissions decisions
Communicate with interested and accepted families
Assist with social media for HMI marketing
Investigate opportunities for online marketing and improved website analytics
Serve as the primary mentor for the marketing apprentice
Serve in a key support role for the admissions team
Provide backup support as needed for the HMI Gap marketing team
Option to lead up to two wilderness expeditions per year (10-18 days each)
Option to be directly involved with students in a mentoring capacity
10% of every position is whatever needs to be done to serve the mission of HMI

Qualifications: Strong communication and organizational skills, competency with the Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Ideal candidates will have a BA or higher with some experience in the marketing and/or admissions fields; Ideal candidates will be highly organized self-starters, be able to manage multiple tasks at once, and be willing to work as a member of a team. Criminal and driving background checks will be required.
