The Facilities Maintenance Technician provides facility and maintenance support to all departments at Villa Academy. The primary responsibilities of this position include general maintenance to the school buildings and grounds including painting, plumbing, landscape maintenance, and minor mechanical and electrical repairs. In addition, the Maintenance Technician will possess a level of knowledge and skills required to handle custodial needs. He or she will provide general assistance with room set-up for events, move items as requested, make minor repairs, be proficient with the school security system, and open and secure the facility.
Education and Experience:
Commitment to Mission of Villa Academy
3 – 5 years of general maintenance experience, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, landscape techniques, and basic carpentry skills
Ability to work independently
Detail oriented and able to handle challenges
Excellent communication skills
Ability to maintain high standards of professionalism
Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness and judgment in making decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Washington State Drivers License.
Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 75 pounds
Must have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks including bending, kneeling, standing, reaching, climbing, stooping, squatting, and twisting on a regular basis in a variety of conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and/or past experience in an elementary/middle school setting
Knowledge of and/or familiarity with the Catholic faith
Basic knowledge of construction and building maintenance procedures.
Demonstrated work experience performing physical tasks in a capacity related to this position.
Basic knowledge of construction and building maintenance techniques, landscape and grounds maintenance techniques, use and care of hand held tools and safety procedures.
Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance.
