The Upper School Psychology/AP Psychology Instructor is responsible for teaching upper school students broad and comprehensive curriculum in the field of psychology with an enthusiasm, passion and commitment for teaching in a Christian environment.
• Creates a classroom environment that fosters a desire to learn and develops a culture of excellence • Develops lesson plans based on MPCS curriculum guidelines • Works cooperatively with MPCS Instructional Coaches to learn feedback and continuously improve quality of instruction • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions • Maintains overall professionalism adhering to the MPCS guidelines • Supports the value of an education founded in Christian values • Supports the philosophy and mission of Mount Pisgah Christian School

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters or Doctoral degree preferred • Experience teaching AP Psychology classes or certification preferred • A minimum of 3 years teaching experience; independent Christian school preferred • Experience working as part of an academic team and facilitating a collaborative, trusting atmosphere among colleagues • A commitment to professional development and lifelong learning • A passion for integrating faith into academic discipline • A genuine ability to “connect” with and serve young people in a Christian community • Excellent written/oral communication skills • Excellent organizational and planning skills • An eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment
