The Agnes Irwin School seeks an Upper School History Teacher to teach three sections of Global History I (9th grade) and/or Global History II (10th grade), plus one section of International Relations (12th grade) during the 2019-2020 academic year. Candidates should be excited to work in a rigorous academic environment with colleagues who value collaboration as well as independence.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in History (or similar discipline), advanced degree preferred • Minimum of three years teaching experience preferred • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to organize and manage a classroom environment to accomplish effectively program goals • Proficiency in the use of classroom technology: Microsoft Office applications, Google Docs, Google Classroom • Demonstrated ability to work as a contributing team member in an educational environment • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities • Evidenced commitment to professional growth • Ability and interest in extracurriculars, such as coaching and/or advising a club or publication a plus
