The Chestnut Hill School Summer Camp seeks an RN to take on the role of Camp Nurse. The Summer Camp Nurse oversees the health and wellness of approximately 275 campers each day (co-ed, ages 3 to 14) and about 100 staff members. This position is full time (40 hours) during the 6 weeks of camp from July 1st through August 16th with additional minimal time required before the start of camp reviewing camper medical records. The nurse will report directly to the Camp Director.
The nurse will be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the camp community through sound health promotion and practices, while complying with MA Department of Public Health Regulations.
Provide routine daily care and administration of OTC and prescribed medications. Provide emergency care to all campers and staff when needed
Review and input electronically all camper and staff medical forms for MA state compliance prior to the start of the camp session. Communicate with parents any missing information needed for compliance
Maintain daily medical log records and reporting any camp incidents to Camp Director
Maintain a well-stocked infirmary and prepare First Aid kits for groups, camp field trips
Follow camp standing orders for nurse and communicate with Camp Physician as needed
Communicate with parents regarding children's health conditions when appropriate
Communicate with Camp Director and counselors as needed
Attend pre-camp staff training and Family Orientation
Maintain and distribute the camp allergy/special concerns list
Follow camp standards and policies
Perform other related duties as needed by the Camp Director.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Current CPR/ AED and First Aid certifications
Familiar with life-threatening allergy protocols

Physical assessment skills with children, ages 3-14 yrs old
