Middle School Music and Theater Teacher International School of Brooklyn seeks a dynamic, hardworking, full-time Middle School Music and Theater Teacher for the 2019-20 school year and beyond. The ideal candidate is one who understands and enjoys young people (ages 10-14) and is a skilled music and theater teacher who can inspire students to love music and theater. Description of position
Teach 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Performance classes, which include music and theater instruction and activities
Direct Middle School musical, play, and other performances
Co-direct (or assist with) the Lower & Middle School Band
Serve as advisor (homeroom teacher)
Teaching experience, preferably in the independent school world; experience teaching in an IB school is a plus
Degree in music/theater or related subjects or significant experience/skill in these areas
Supportive, student-centered approach and ability to differentiate instruction
Desire to mentor students in an advisory role outside the classroom
