Opening: Middle School Teaching Fellow (one-year position)
Full time position to begin August 2019

Observing classes, working with teachers in the classroom and receiving feedback about lessons taught across a variety of grade levels and subjects. Specific classes will be determined based on the academic background of the Fellow.
Assist in a middle school homeroom with events, trips, and other activities.
Depending on background, involvement with the middle school arts program, athletics program, and/or extracurricular activities.
Provide support to the middle school head as needed, including with logistical coordination of events (e.g: Back to School Night, parent-teacher conferences, and grade level transition night), communication to families, and updating of the blog.
Assist the middle school head with administrative tasks, including scheduling and logistics, arranging for substitutes, and ordering of supplies and materials.
Help maintain the organization of documents within Google Drive for faculty to access.
Assist with duties as needed, such as carpool, recess, and lunch duty.
Serve as a point of contact in the middle school for the Stanley front desk staff and the K-5 coordinator.

A commitment to improving one’s craft and growing professionally, modeling the joyful, lifelong learning we seek to impart to our students.
A bachelor’s degree.
Experience working in a diverse environment.
Highly organized and attentive to detail, able to keep track of a wide variety of dates, deadlines and logistics.
A willingness to pitch in and help out wherever needed.
A self-starter who is attentive to the needs of individual faculty and of the overall middle school team.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity and comfort with a range of technology, including the Google platform, and the Microsoft suite of software.
A desire to learn as much as possible about the world of independent schools.
A desire to work with middle school age children.
A positive presence and enthusiasm for life-long learning.
