Landmark Christian School seeks a new Chief Financial Officer / Operations Officer.
Located in Fairburn, Georgia, Landmark Christian School has experienced a rich 30-year history. Landmark is currently growing and witnessing record enrollment and applications, launching new academies in film, music, engineering, aviation, and culinary arts. Landmark began a capital campaign in 2019 to build a new high school to open in the fall of 2020 and new Fine Arts Center to ideally open in 2022. Chief Financial Officer/Operations Officer
The Position: As a key member of the Executive Team, the Chief Financial Officer/Operations Officer will oversee all aspects of strategically managing the School’s finances and business operations, reporting to the Head of School and working closely with the executive leadership team and with the Finance Committee of the Board. The CFO/COO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the school. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, project tracking, legal, property management, contract analysis and negotiations, transportation, endowment and investment management and monitoring, and risk management.
Core Qualifications and Requirements:
BS or BBA in Accounting or Finance, MBA or MAcc and/or CPA highly desirable
10+ years of financial and business leadership in a non-profit organization. Direct experience in an independent school is desirable
Experience on senior administrative teams and working with non-profit boards
Demonstrated experience in measuring and improving organization-wide productivity and efficiency
Demonstrated experience in strategic decision-making (cost-benefit analysis, market analysis, organizational strengths and weaknesses)
Demonstrated experience in communicating to varied audiences
Experience in effective cash management, forecasting cash flow, and bank relations
Experience with Blackbaud based applications
Experience managing building projects
Experience managing capital campaign
Experience in motivating, mentoring, managing and evaluating accounting team
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
