Temple Beth Am Day School of Miami is looking for its next Head of School.
The first thing that you will notice when you visit our large, well-equipped campus is that our N-5 school is bursting at the seams. We are one of the very few overflowing and still-growing Jewish schools in the United States. Parents and children come from around the area to join our community because they are passionate about our nurturing environment, our creative and positive educational professionals, our beautiful campus setting, and the integrity of expression of our tradition and values. We are currently building an even more expansive, state-of-the-art facility with our parent synagogue to help us better serve as the center of Jewish life in South Florida.
You will be the face of the school to parents and teachers.
Leadership: You guide an unparalleled team of administrators and teachers in the Early Childhood and Elementary divisions of the day school. You giving them formal and informal feedback that helps them grow while feeling supported in their work. You enjoy articulating a vision for what an institution of excellence looks like.
Communication: In addition to planned written and oral communication, you are the person whom our teachers and parents approach with difficult situations, and you handle them with warmth and grace.
Administration: Along with your team, you keep the school organized, aligned, and safe at all levels. It is your mission to handle the details that meet and exceed the community's high expectations.
Curriculum: You are responsible for the educational experience for children from 15 months old through fifth grade. You work with your administration to set expectations at each grade level and measure performance regularly against those standards.
We believe that you are at the very top of your field in both qualifications and disposition.
Track record: We think you have a track record of success in a previous headship (or assistant headship of a large school). You have ambitious standards that originated during your years in the classroom; they also reflect your high level of knowledge of curriculum and practices. You have cultivated fun places to work where people love to collaborate every day.
Education: You probably hold an advanced degree in education or educational leadership. But more meaningfully, you model lifelong learning for your teachers and students through ongoing formal education, informal education, and a deep spirit of reflection.
Style: You exemplify professionalism and polish. You model compassion and positive attitude for all those who know you. You have the ability to grow positive relationships within a well-resourced parent organization.
In exchange for all of these qualities and qualifications, we offer you an unparalleled place to work and group of teachers, students, parents, and volunteers with whom to work.
We are an equal opportunity employer, and we value diversity.
Does this opportunity intrigue you? If so, we invite you to contact us via online application to learn more. This position would be for a July 1, 2020 start date.
We are proud to offer generous compensation packages and benefits -- including tuition discounts and a retirement program -- befitting a top professional in the field. We would be delighted to help partners find professional opportunities in the area as needed.
