This position involves teaching IB Diploma Economics and MYP Individuals & Societies (I&S) in the secondary school. Your objective is to motivate each student to develop competencies, knowledge and skills in all areas of the subjects taught. A full course load is targeted at approximately 72% of available teaching time in a week.

GENERAL ISU RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE • Involvement in the school’s pastoral care programme • Actively building the positive learning climate of the school • Initiating and supporting undertakings which improve the school’s programmes and further advance our students’ learning experiences • Assisting and supervising student service learning • Participation in school field trips • Offering two or more co-curricular activities for students • Attending and supporting school special events and functions outside of regular school hours • Participating in 3-way conferences (student-teacher-parent) • Seeking out and taking advantage of professional development opportunities where possible • Attending meetings as necessary • Taking on supervisory duties at break times and /or at the beginning or end of the school day • other duties as outlined in the ISU Staff Manual

You will have: • effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills • experience in—and commitment to—working in an inclusion-model framework • ideally, five or more years experience teaching culturally- and linguistically-diverse populations • knowledge of international school pedagogy and curricula including the IB Programmes • at least a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate field, together with relevant teaching certification • prior experience teaching in the role for which you are applying
