The Director of Residential life provides leadership for the dormitory program and is the point person for both the students and the dorm parents regarding dorm concerns. The Director of Residential Life reports to the Dean of Students, works as a dorm parent with a residence in the dorm, and manages a Lead Dorm Parent and six other dorm parent staff members. S/he is responsible for supporting a safe, comfortable, and welcoming dormitory environment for a diverse population of students and dorm staff. This position is an academic year position that is required to live on campus. An apartment will be provided that can be occupied year-round.
We are seeking an upbeat, experienced and collaborative residential life professional who is interested in guiding the Westover dorm program into the 21st century.
Collaborate with Dean of Students, Dorm Parents, and Health and Wellness Center staff to evaluate the current residential life curriculum and evolve a more intentional social-emotional learning program
Manage all aspects of the boarding program, including being the primary contact for boarding parents, mentoring and evaluating dorm parents, creating and maintaining dorm duty schedule, coordinating dorm parent trainings and professional development, including regular meetings, working with the Director of Facilities on dorm maintenance issues, coordinating faculty dorm duty calendar, annual student room draw, manage the dorm food budget and be the liaison to dining services.
Work as the Student Proctor program coordinator and collaborate with the Dean of Students and Director of Counseling on the weekly Peer Support proctor-run evening program.
Work as the student activities coordinator, providing a range of options for all students
Oversee student work projects and weekly Sit-Down Dinner
Maintain online Reach leave request system
Co-chair, Student Community Council
Member of faculty Community Life Committee, and the Student Assistance Team. Member of the Student Disciplinary Committee.
Dorm duty two nights per week and one weekend per month.
