Position: St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for a K-12 Director of Intercultural Life.
Description: Aligned with our mission statement, we seek to achieve ongoing excellence in academics by also tending to the environments and mindsets that allow students to engage with and work through difference in healthy and productive ways. St. Paul Academy and Summit School strives to support students in the development of skills that promote collaboration across, and understanding of, diverse perspectives, opinions, values, experiences, and identities. The Director of Intercultural life plays a key role in helping to shape a community where inclusivity, pluralism, and a high regard for the value of diversity and equity are paramount to our school program and learning community. The Director of Intercultural Life works across all constituencies and may provide consultative services to the student support team, classroom teachers, and parents and guardians.
The Director of Intercultural Life reports to the Assistant Heads of School. The Director of Intercultural Life is charged with defining and directing institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and policies in consultation with the Leadership Team. The Director oversees the student experience at school with a lens of equity and inclusion and engages in community outreach to support initiatives in admission, recruiting and hiring.
Successful candidates should demonstrate the ability to establish a supportive and engaging environment for students and to work collaboratively with parents/guardians. They will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a desire for ongoing professional development and growth, and have experience and a desire to work within diverse communities and across cultural difference. Additionally, candidates should have an in-depth understanding of identity development in children and adolescents.

Required: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred; Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years experience in counseling, diversity/equity/inclusion, leadership, or a related field.
