The Position The Sage School is looking for a knowledgeable, engaging/creative, and approachable math teacher who is also capable serving as the Department Chair. Our math program is committed to blended learning, which combines small-group instruction, project-based learning, and adaptive independent work. Upper school students (grades 5-8) learn math from Pre-Algebra to Precalculus and Stats. Lower school students typically work one year ahead of grade standards. Students are flexibly grouped by progress, and lesson topics are informed by independent work and assessment data. Applicants must be willing and able to teach pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2 with trigonometry, and geometry at an honors level. Experience teaching high school, gifted middle school, or competition math is preferred but not required.

Maintain a sense of humor and compassion.
Possess strong writing skills and be comfortable communicating students’ progress with parents in narrative form and in person.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic field is required; a Masters degree is preferred
