Assist the Head of Lower School in ensuring the academic success, social and emotional well-being of all students, families, and colleagues
Assist Head of Lower School in organizing professional development and curriculum/programmatic changes
Assist Head of Lower School in the evaluation of individual faculty members and hiring of new colleagues
Visit classrooms regularly, join grade level meetings, and assist in supporting teachers and students as needed
Lead guided reading groups and provide individual instructional support across subjects as needed
Work with the Associate Director of Lower School Admissions to schedule and coordinate all admissions visitors and assessments
Oversee ERB testing including tech requirements, scheduling, and communication
Oversee Lower School Duties schedule and coverage
Oversee Lower School Substitutes including interviewing, maintaining sub-list and supporting teachers with finding coverage
Assist in organizing LS schedule, calendar, requisitions and support Lower School Family Events
Assist in organizing and supporting Lower School Assemblies
Assist in reading and editing Lower School progress reports
Oversee and maintain student files at the beginning and end of the school year
Master's degree in Education or related field preferred
Minimum of two years' experience teaching or in an administrative position in a school setting
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and be part of an administrative team
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and make connections with children, parents, teachers, and administrators
Knowledge and/or training in cultural competency
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
