Immediate Supervisor: Director of Counseling and Wellness
To provide part time health and emergency care to students and staff, promote wellness and serve as a resource for health concerns in the school setting. The School Nurse coordinates the delivery of health services through communication and collaboration with parents, students, staff and physicians.
Part time duties include, but are not limited to:
Protecting and maintain student’s health by providing professional nursing services in accordance with Nursing Standards and NYS Licensing.
Documenting health services provided.
Administering medications and treatments as ordered
Reviewing and maintaining accurate cumulative health records, including immunizations.
Facilitating NY State-mandated immunization and communicable disease control requirements.
Identifying and assessing students’ health needs, implementing services, and evaluating plans of care which impact student learning and achievement or safety.
Developing individual health care plans and modifications for students with special health care needs.
Acting as liaison between home and school, and community regarding student health concerns.
Participating as member of the Counseling and Wellness Department; including participating in parent and/or faculty workshops.
Participating as member of the school’s Emergency Management Team.

Qualifications: NYS License, Registered Professional Nurse
Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field
Current certification in CPR
Current Mandated Reporter training
Experience in pediatric or public health nursing
Prior experience in school nursing preferred
