The Berkeley Carroll Middle School is hiring an Administrative Assistant to the Middle School Director for a year-round staff position. As first point of contact for students, parents and teachers who need information and assistance during the school year, the MS Administrative Assistant needs to be informed, good-natured and patient with all manner of requests, large and small.
The position is marked by tremendous variety, but primary duties include:
Monitoring daily attendance
Arranging substitute coverage for absent teachers
Coordinating school bus dismissal
Planning, orchestrating and creating a schedule for special events
Coordinating the 8th grade high school application process
Maintaining the Division Director's schedule
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Comfort interacting regularly with middle school students
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Strong interpersonal skills
A desire to be a part of a warm, engaging school community
Ability to stay on task despite changing priorities and disruption
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and maintaining databases is essential. This is a full-time position with benefits and regular vacations.
