Creating and implementing curriculum to develop strong healthy young women of action
Identifying and addressing student concerns through positive problem-solving strategies
Provide short term individual and group meetings
Supporting faculty and staff concerning academic and emotional concerns of their students
Provide support to administrative team in implementing the schools mission and vision
Conducting and/or facilitating parent education programs when appropriate
Communicating necessary information with parents about their student when appropriate
Participate in the school community events with other duties as assigned
Committed to professional growth to enhance social emotional development of young women
Active commitment to enhancing a school community through involvement on committees and in student life activities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Master’s Degree in school counseling
Commitment to embrace the school’s mission and values
Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth and passion for developing young women of action
Commitment to working collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents
Experience using a variety of pedagogical strategies
Enjoys working collaboratively to develop and plan curricula.
Proven experience engaging students in class experiences that foster critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity

About Connelly School of the Holy Child
Connelly School of the Holy Child Founded in 1961 by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus as a college preparatory school for girls grade 6-12. The school is part of a network of 33 Holy Child schools in the United States, Europe and Africa, which is guided by the educational philosophy of Cornelia Connelly. Holy Child enrolls approximately 300 students every year from the Washington, DC metropolitan area as well as across the globe. Holy Child creates a personal learning experience with an 8 to 1 student to faculty ratio and offers fine arts programs as well as competitive sports teams in soccer, field hockey, volleyball, basketball, cross country lacrosse and more.
Service is part of the Holy Child curriculum and students last year completed 5,000 hours of community service.
