The Agnes Irwin School's Science Department seeks an experienced, dynamic, and creative full-time Upper School Science Teacher to teach Biology. Candidates should possess a passion for innovative teaching and for inspiring a love of learning, and enjoy working in a rigorous academic environment with colleagues who value collaboration as well as independence.
Qualifications: · Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree preferred · Minimum three (3) years teaching experience preferred · Demonstrated expertise in teaching advanced Upper School biology, anatomy and physiology, and neuropsychology is highly preferred · Experience conducting novel laboratory research and/or experience teaching additional science subjects a plus · Proficiency in the use of classroom technology: interactive smart boards, Google applications, and various Microsoft Office applications required · Proven ability to engage students in meaningful classroom activities, and manage a classroom in an effective and safe manner · Effective interpersonal and communication skills · Ability and interest in extracurricular activities, such as coaching and/or advising a club or publication a plus
