Associate Director of Admissions for Lower and Middle School
The Associate Director of Admissions for Lower and Middle School will report to the Director of Enrollment Management and will be a member of the Admissions and Advancement teams. As a prominent external representative of our school, the Associate Director of Admissions will be expected to professionally and effectively market the school throughout New Jersey and New York by telling the EMS story in a compelling way.
Along with a team of admissions professionals, the Associate Director of Admissions will work to increase market awareness of The Elisabeth Morrow School and the unique attributes of a threes-through-eighth grade education. This is an 11-month position and requires summer responsibilities and begins on July 1, 2019.
The essential job functions will include:
Admissions- tours, intensive follow-up, processing, arranging visits, retention, and following recruitment strategies for application and enrollment goals.
Outreach- feeder schools and organizations, creation of events specifically for recruitment, attendance at external events. This will be an important part of the job, and it is expected that the new Associate Director will spend time doing school and organizational visits.
Oversee the Student Ambassador Program
Participate in Admissions Committees
Participate in and help to coordinate after-school, evening, and weekend admission events and fairs
Other duties as assigned by the Director
The desired skills and experience include:
Experience as an educator and understanding of curriculum and lower school and middle school aged development
Proficiency in social media and strong technology skills; experience with Ravenna a plus
BA required, advanced degree a plus
Experience in independent and/or international admissions is essential.
Language proficiency in other than English language and familiarity with international populations are also desirable.
The ideal candidate is a team player who possesses high energy, creativity, and superior communication skills. Collaboration with faculty, administrators and volunteers are essential in this position.
Ability to be a good listener and employ sales techniques is also critical.
